We offer a variety of housing options and solutions, including subsidized, market rate, and affordable housing. In addition, we offer programs for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. 


Eviction Prevention 

Sept. 10, 2020 Update:

There is some confusion around the new eviction moratorium that went into effect on 9/4/20.  Below is the information provided by the CDC. This includes the declaration that will prevent you from being evicted during this time.  Please make sure that you read the declaration, sign and provide to your landlord. We are still working to find out how/when/if we can facilitate rental assistance.

Are you at risk of becoming homeless due to COVID related economic hardship? Lutheran Social Services can help with resources and possible funds if you meet the income requirements.  Please call and leave a message.  An LSS staff member will return your call and help you walk through the next steps.

Requirements include: 

  • Eau Claire, Waukesha, Buffalo, Trempeleau or Racine Resident
  • Household income 80% of area median income (50% of meidan income for Racine residents)
  • Adults 18+
  • W9 signed by landlord
  • Landlord agreement

Up to 2 months’ rent and utilities

The service coordination program serves to promote and support self sufficiency and independence, through facilitation of a variety of supportive services within residential communities throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. This is especially important for assuring that elderly residents and residents with disabilities are linked to specific supportive services that continue and enhance their ability to live independently.

Teen Runaway & Homelessness Programs

We offer runaway and youth services programs providing services to runaway youth and their families in Wisconsin. Our staff members work to improve the support network for both troubled youth and their families through confidential and voluntary crisis intervention, and referral services offered in locations throughout Wisconsin.

Our Welcome Home and Transitional Living programs help anyone struggling with homelessness find a more permanent home. These solutions range from homes provided rent-free for up to two years as well as youth shelters.
