Bela Maroti, our dear friend, advisor and cherished founder of the LSS Foundation has left an indelible mark on all of us at LSS.
Bela’s legacy of hope in recovery has impacted tens of thousands of lives because he said “yes” to using his God-given gifts to serve others.
He was a man of tremendous wisdom, grace, and kindness. His infectious smile, brilliant counsel, and tender heart will be forever missed.
Bela was both a guidepost and a beacon for Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS) and the LSS Foundation. He was advisor, advocate, and champion in helping to shape our programs. His visionary, Servant-Leadership recognized the need for long-term financial support of human services programs.

Called to serve with compassion and courage, LSS is humbled by the 93% of clients who say we improved the quality of their lives.
With the blessed support of congregations we, together, achieve the goals of our mission and vision. As the social ministry partner of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) LSS partners with over 600 ELCA congregations and many more of other denominations to strengthen families, heal communities and empower independence and belonging.
With Servant-led hearts, we advocate for the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities, cultivating bravery in every life we touch. We challenge what has been, and co-create with our clients what could be. Visit our Careers Page for more about our benefits and the LSS culture.
