Foster Care Champion
Sarah Howe, of Janesville, Wisconsin, felt called to give back for her entire life. As an infant Sarah was adopted,
leading to a strong desire to pay it forward in her adult life by becoming a foster parent.
She has fostered four children and now serves as a foster care champion for Lutheran Social Services of
Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS). Sarah encourages other individuals to become foster parents and works
closely with them throughout the process by going to information sessions hosted by LSS. Sarah and her
partner, Tim Stefanczyk have won the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Adoptive Parents.
