Providing new clothes to homeless children in MPS
Approximately 4,000 students in Milwaukee Public Schools are homeless. With no homes, they often don’t have adequate clothes for school, either.
A partnership between Milwaukee Public Schools and Urban Threads provides these children with clothes for school, from underwear to outerwear.
Brand New, Brand Name
Urban Threads is a clothing distribution center that provides brand-new, brand-name clothing that’s always free to children in need. We sort and arrange our clothing in department-store fashion, so the kids can have a fun “shopping” experience, assisted by personal shoppers (our trained volunteers).
With so many children in need, it’s a challenge to keep our racks stocked with clothes. We receive contributions of clothing from some companies but the demand far outweighs the supply; we need your help, too.
