A Statement on Recent Misinformation About LSS

A mailer distributed under the name “Wisconsin Transcript” includes false and misleading statements about Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS), specifically misrepresenting our Refugee Resettlement work and funding.

We were not contacted for verification prior to its distribution, and the claims made about our work and funding are inaccurate.

For more than 140 years, LSS has served individuals, families, and communities with integrity and transparency. It is important that we correct the record to protect the trust placed in us by our partners, donors, congregations, and the individuals and families we serve.
