Adult Residential in Southeast Wisconsin

At LSS, residential services for substance use disorder provide a structured, supportive living environment where individuals receive intensive treatment while living on-site.  Our residential treatment programs combine 24-hour supervision with evidence-based strategies that address both substance use, and related mental health needs addressed by case management. By removing individuals from triggers and high-risk environments, residential services allow them to focus fully on recovery, develop healthy coping strategies, and build a strong foundation for long-term sobriety.

Medically Monitored Treatment (MMT) is the first phase of service, and includes thorough assessment of each person’s individual needs and strengths.  Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and curriculum based groups, MMT provides intense, focused services designed to allow the individual to explore recovery and consider the changes necessary for ongoing sobriety. Group services are utilized to provide peer support, shared accountability, reduce isolation, identify challenges associated with recovery, and foster a sense of belonging that can strengthen motivation and engagement in treatment.  Length of stay is individualized and generally 4 – 6 weeks.

Transitional Residential Treatment (TRT) was previously referred to as a halfway house setting, and this phase is the bridge back to the community and is designed for individuals who are progressing in their recovery but still need structure and support. Participants now are able to rebuild family relationships, make meaningful connections to mutual support groups, secure gainful employment or further their education.  By promoting accountability, independent living skills, and gradual reintegration into the community, halfway house services help individuals maintain sobriety, strengthen relapse-prevention strategies, and prepare for successful, long-term recovery.
