Community Day

Titans Unite to Build Stability for Wisconsin Families

For Immediate Release

WEST ALLIS, Wis., Feb. 25, 2026 — More than 50 of Wisconsin’s top CEOs came together for the annual Titan 100 Community Day, partnering this year with Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS) for a hands-on service event designed to strengthen dignity, stability, and confidence for families across the region.

Hosted at the LSS headquarters in West Allis and guided by Titan Hall of Fame Honoree and LSS President & CEO Héctor Colón, participants assembled 300 crisis and hygiene backpacks for children and families experiencing housing instability, food insecurity, and other barriers to wellbeing.

ELEVATING IMPACT BEYOND A SINGLE DAY

While Community Day is an annual service tradition, the day’s efforts addressed challenges that LSS confronts year‑round across its statewide programming. Each backpack created by Titans supports the core needs LSS serves every day:

  • affordable housing & homelessness prevention
  • support for children & families
  • mental health & substance use treatment
  • skills for life and work
  • connection to community resources.

For a family navigating crisis, these backpacks represent far more than supplies. Hygiene items help restore a sense of normalcy. Personal care kits reduce stress for caregivers. Handwritten notes of encouragement, added by Titans themselves, offer hope to individuals who too often feel unseen. For students, having basic essentials can rebuild confidence and help them show up to school ready to learn.

LEADERS ROLLING UP THEIR SLEEVES

Titan 100 Community Day is designed to connect executive leaders not only with each other, but with the communities in which they live and lead.

“We are honored to host the Titans and grateful for their willingness to roll up their sleeves,” said Héctor Colón, LSS President & CEO and Titan Hall of Fame Honoree. “Leadership is not just about influence, it’s about service. Today, these CEOs demonstrated the type of compassionate leadership that lifts families, strengthens communities, and inspires meaningful change.”

Throughout the event, LSS team captains worked directly alongside Titans, sharing stories of the children, adults, and families who will receive the backpacks. Displays throughout the room showcased LSS programs in action, video stories, and the organization’s mission brought to life.

A LEGACY OF SERVICE THROUGH COLLABORATION

Founded in 1882, LSS serves nearly 30,000 people annually across Wisconsin and Upper Michigan through services such as adoption and foster care, refugee resettlement, affordable housing support, mental health treatment, and substance use recovery. The partnership with Titan 100 amplifies the organization’s ability to reach families in moments of crisis.

“This is more than a volunteer project—it’s an investment in dignity,” said [Insert Titan Spokesperson Name, if desired], Titan 100 representative. “Every backpack assembled today carries the collective impact of leaders committed to building stronger communities.”
