Pets and Names: Stella (Miniature Schnauzer)

City Type: We live in a small, rural community on the edge of town. We bought our house from Abbey's parents about 8 years ago – this is the house Abbey grew up in, and we love that our children will have the same opportunity.  We have a large backyard with a swing set that is great for kids to run around and play in and makes you feel as if you are not actually in town.

Years lived here: 8

Describe the community/Neighborhood: Small community

Family Traditions

Holidays:  Spending time with family is the most important part of the holidays for us.  Each year we alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas with each family.  For us, it really isn't about the day we celebrate, but  more about the people we celebrate with!  One of our favorite things to do at Christmas time is to bundle  up and go find the “perfect” Christmas tree to cut down and decorate.  There is nothing like the smell of fresh pine at Christmas!  We also enjoy spending each Memorial Day with Abbey's family up at the lake, and each Labor Day is spent with Weston's family, watching him play fastpitch softball.

Vacations:  We love to travel together and visit new places!  We take a vacation to Florida every other year with Abbey's family, visiting Disney World and the ocean.  When we are not traveling to Florida, we find another fun trip to take together, whether it's a camping trip, a fishing trip to Canada or another new adventure – we just love exploring new places together!  This year, we made a trip to Superior, WI, where we camped, visited the train museum and explored all the beautiful waterfalls around the  area...what amazing memories we created!

Family Gatherings: We love getting together with family, whether it's a weekend trip up north or a visit with birth family, these gatherings are our most treasured memories!

Birth Parent Letter

It is with great courage and love that brings you to read this letter.  We will never know the tremendous emotions that you have gone through to get to this point, so we commend you for your bravery. Your love for your unborn child and the love we are ready to share with a child connects us, even if just for this moment.  Without birthparents, there would be no adoption, and we thank you for considering us to raise your child.

We pride ourselves on being just ordinary people that like to have fun and enjoy life.  We are not perfect, but we're real.  We are excited to add a second child to our family through open adoption and to welcome birthparents into our extended family.  We hope that you are just as excited to meet us as we are you.

So, here we are...Weston works as an Energy Services Representative, where he has been for eight years after serving six years in the U.S. Navy.  He loves playing and watching sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.  Abbey has been a Registered Nurse for almost two years – she loves caring for others.  She also enjoys running, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.  Kingston came to our family through open adoption over 4 years ago.  He is a train fanatic and a total goofball who's smile and laughter are contagious.  He has brought so much joy, excitement and love into our lives – we are so excited for him to become a big brother!

As a family, we enjoy doing most everything together – from going to ball games, fishing or traveling; we love just hanging out with each other.  We have a lot of love in our hearts and look forward to adding to our family not only a child, but the people that made our special addition possible.

As you continue the journey ahead of you, we wish you the best and may God be with you.  Should we be what you're looking for in an adoptive family, we look forward to meeting you and together sharing our love with a very lucky child.
