Family Traditions

Holidays:

  • We spend Easter with Abbey’s side of the family
  • Thanksgiving with Jason’s side of the family
  • We spend time with both sides of the family throughout the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season.
  • During Easter and Christmas we attend church services that are a big part of our traditions and beliefs
  • Along with the church services, opening gifts and egg hunts are a blast to watch Jackson participate in
  • We also take time to honor our veterans on Memorial Day.

Vacations: We would like to travel to as many states as possible as a family. Currently we have been taking fun trips throughout Wisconsin to see what our state has to offer.

Family Gatherings: We try to attend as many family gatherings as possible. We have family reunions, birthday parties, picnics, trips to the family cabin, and camping (of course with great camp fires and lots of marshmallows).

Birthparent Letter:

Dear Birthparent,

Our once very neat and tidy home is now covered with trucks, balls, and numerous other toys.  Our names are Abbey and Jason.  I (Abbey) am a teacher, and Jason is a lab technician. We were privileged to be chosen 5 years ago by a birth parent who blessed us with a son, Jackson. Jackson is a very energetic boy who longs to be a big brother.  He prays daily for our family to be blessed with a baby.  The other member our family would be our one-year old dog Wish, who is also very energetic.

Our primary joys in life are faith, family, and friends. We love attending church and sharing that tradition with our adopted son.  Our family is so supportive of adoption.  My sister and her husband have also adopted, and we are glad we can share that journey with them.  It is hard to really call our friends that word because they seem so much like family to us.

We are honored that you are looking over our information. We know that we cannot understand all of the emotions you must be encountering right now.  We have honored that birth mother’s wishes regarding our open adoption and will gladly do the same this time around. We are looking forward to having another child that will help that pile of toys grow.

Thank you again for reading our information.

Abbey, Jason, and Jackson
