Ethnicity: Lori - Caucasian and Daryl -Caucasian

City Type: Urban

Years lived here: 6

Community/Neighborhood: In 2005, we built our house. We chose the area because the street would receive little traffic, it is close to the church and we would have enough room for a grassy yard for our children to play in. Our spacious 3 bedroom home is nestled in a wooded neighborhood with several young families and children. We are within walking distance of two schools, nature trails, and a park is located across the street. We look forward to playing ball in the park, swinging, going down the slides, and taking bike rides to the local ice cream stand as our family continues to grow.

Holidays: Our parents' houses are filled with scents of fresh baked pies and roasting turkeys as we gather around the table eating holiday meals and playing games.  Family traditions are carried out: finding the pickle ornament on the tree and digging an igloo for the annual bonfire at Christmas time

Family Gatherings: We spend a lot of time with our families. Family gatherings always include lots of food, fun, games, and laughter! During the spring and summer, weekends are filled with attending festivals with family, camping, having friends over for BBQ’s,attending ball games, going to local parks or biking on the nature trails. Heading to Iowa to hang out at the family farm, harvesting sweet corn, and giving four wheeler rides to family are also enjoyed. In the fall, the crisp air is enjoyed while we create piles of leaves for Jonathan, and our nieces and nephews to jump in. We travel to the pumpkin farm to find the perfect pumpkins to carve.

Dear BirthParent,

Our names are Daryl and Lori. We have been married for 6 years, and our love for each other continues to grow stronger every day. We happily look forward to traveling through the adoption journey with you so we can share our love with you and a new life.

Why Adoption
We have always wanted to have children. After lots of prayer and discovering we couldn’t get pregnant on our own, we decided that adoption is the way we are meant to grow our family. We adopted our son, Jonathan, in 2010. We are looking forward to our family growing through adoption again and discovering what kind of relationship we can develop with you. We feel so blessed to be on this journey with you.

About Daryl (from Lori)
One of the first things I noticed about Daryl was his love for children and the passion he has for teaching them about God! He is a very loving and attentive husband who loves being a father and teaching Jonathan all the wonderful things about the world! During the summer Daryl loves outdoor activities such as volleyball, baseball, biking, and hanging out at his parents’ farm.

About Lori (from Daryl)
When you first meet Lori you will notice her natural motherly ability and her cheerfulness. I’ve never seen someone light up a room with a smile like Lori can. You will learn that Lori loves children! Her job allows her to have a lot of time off over the summer, holidays, and weekends to spend with Jonathan. Lori enjoys any outdoor activities, hanging out with family and friends, and serving in the church.

About Jonathan
Jonathan is an energetic little boy who loves discovering the world. He is always full of giggles and smiles. Jonathan enjoys playing with his friends and family, getting into mischief, and playing in the water. Jonathan sends text messages and monthly updates to his birthmom. He also has occasional visits with her. Pictures of his visits are available at http://darylandlorisadoptionjourney.shutterfly.com

About You
We look forward to building a life-long relationship with you. Whether it is through visits, letters, pictures, or phone calls, it is our intention to be open with you and to let your child know who you are. Your child will always know how much you love them.

We want to thank you again for taking the time to get to know us a little better, and we pray God’s blessings on you.
