Community: Rural

Years lived here: We built our home three years ago.

Community/Neighborhood:  Our community is very family oriented and its members are ready and willing to help a neighbor.  Our home is located in a neighborhood development and has 70 one-acre family homes.  We have amazing neighbors that we have established close friendships with.  There are always children playing outside.  We enjoy having the kids over to play at our house.  We are lucky to own the home of our dreams!

Family Traditions

Holidays: The holidays are something we hold most dear to our hearts. Chris and I have many memories of family traditions from when we were kids.  We have enjoyed passing on the traditions that our parents stared with our daughter. We celebrate the holidays with both our extended families since most of our family lives close to our home. Some of our favorites are:

  • Celebrating birthdays
  • Dying Easter eggs
  • Trick or treating
  • Picking just the right pumpkin to carve
  • Making Christmas cookies
  • Christmas pajamas and decorating the tree
  • Summer barbeques and bonfires in the backyard.
  • Camping in the tent
  • The tooth fairy
  • Fourth of July fireworks sitting in the lawn chairs

Family Gatherings: Spending time with family is one of our top priorities. We get together often with our families. When we are all together we like to:  host or go to dinner gatherings at our family’s homes, take road trips, have movie nights, have girls weekends, visit museums, go to ball games, enjoy backyard grilling, help with home improvement projects, laughing or just have good conversations on the couch.

Vacations: Our parents traveled with us from an early age, and we have many great memories from those experiences. We like to travel and enjoy spontaneous road trips such as water parks, camping, or flying to further away destinations.  We often travel with our extended family. This past summer we went on an outstanding trip to Disney World. We were able to see Mickey, Minnie and all of our favorite princesses. It was truly a magical place! We can’t wait to go again.

Other: Many of our favorite memories are times together at home; trying a new recipe, new fuzzy socks, or helping with 1st grade homework. Playing board games, laughing, planting a tree, or exploring a new bug we found in the yard. We love dinner at our family table, warm hugs, smiles and the simple moments of day to day life. We try to spread kindness in all that we do. Life has so much to be grateful for!

Birthparent Letter

Greetings! We’re Chris and Sarah and we are excited to build our family through adoption. We have been married for 7 years. We live in a charming, rural community in Western Wisconsin.  We have a light-hearted relationship full of laughter and humor. We like to have fun and celebrate the good things in life. Sarah is a Special Education Teacher and is fortunate to work with amazing children with special needs. Chris is a Network Design Engineer and works from home. We enjoy traveling, camping, movies, and trying a new recipe. We value spending time together and with our extended family. Time with family is when we are the happiest.

We have a sweet, kind, thoughtful, and silly daughter who was born in 2009. Her name is Sydney. She is an incredible young lady who loves all things girly and pink.  We know she’ll be a fabulous big sister. Chris and I both grew up with siblings and we look forward to the bond that our children will develop as siblings throughout their lifetime.

We’re excited about bringing another child into our family and sharing the things we love with him or her.  We look forward to helping your child develop his or her own unique interests and passions, whatever they might be.  We live with a grateful heart, and will provide a warm, fun and happy home for your child.  We will always do our best to guide our children as they learn to navigate the world, developing into kind, thoughtful and well-rounded people. We value education and will foster your child’s creativity and exploration of the world around them.  We view parenthood as a lifelong commitment, and will be there to love and support your child throughout their lifetime.  Additionally, our extended families are just as eager to offer this child their love as grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.

We will always honor your love for this child and respect your decision regarding adoption.  From the youngest age your child will always know about their adoption, how special you are, and how much you love them.

We look forward to meeting you and learning more about each other as we navigate this special journey.

With Love,

Chris, Sarah and Sydney
