Why Give to LSS

The short answer to that question is “because hurting people need your help.” And while LSS has gained vast experience and developed extraordinary expertise in almost 125 years of service, we can’t do it alone. LSS and those we serve need your prayers, your volunteer energy, and your financial support. Motivated by the compassion of Christ, we can together, help people improve the quality of their lives.

Why give to LSS? Because hurting children need your help. Children, here in the United States and abroad are waiting for forever families. But the extraordinary cost of adoption (up to $30,000 for an international adoption) is keeping loving families and children apart. LSS is searching for partners who will help relieve the financial burden of adoption and bring families together.

Why give to LSS? Because hurting families need your help. Families in turmoil need help to find a solution to interpersonal, or drug and alcohol problems. Those with modest incomes and inadequate or no insurance have no place to turn for professional counseling services. LSS looks at counseling as the “ounce of prevention” that protects society against the “pound of cure” responses necessary when families spiral out of control. LSS is searching for partners to assist in providing these very valuable services.

Why give to LSS? Because hurting people need your help. LSS provides round-the-clock care to thousands of people who are developmentally disabled and chronically mentally ill all across Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. The missing piece in our service is that which many of us take most for granted. The unfunded “extras” in the lives of our developmentally disabled customers include things like outings—to the ball game, a fishing trip or short vacation, accessibility improvements for their homes and specialized medical equipment. LSS is searching for partners with an interest in helping make life more rewarding for this group of LSS customers.
