Mary has an extensive background in the assessment and treatment of children who may be experiencing emotional/behavioral disorder, learning disability, or cognitive disability, as well as identifying preferred learning styles and processing strengths and weaknesses.
She specializes in treating individuals with autism, Asperger’s Disorder and attentional disorders, such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Therapeutic interventions are developed to improve coping skills and to address issues of organization, time management, study skills, memory, and regulation of moods, behavior, arousal, and focus.
Mary specializes in family-focused interventions for issues that affect children, adolescents, and young adults. Her work with families typically includes parenting interventions designed to help the parents help their child to deal effectively with school problems, divorce, custody, family change, trauma, abuse, neglect, attachment, grief/loss, other life transitions, and GLBT issues. Providing comprehensive work with children and adolescents is Important to her, including acting as a consultant and liaison to schools, medical providers, and other service providers on behalf of her clients.
