Scripture: “…He…led the blind man out of the village; and when he had put saliva on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, ‘Can you see anything?’ And the man…said, “I can see people, but they look like trees walking.’ Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again…and his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.” (Mark 8:23-25)
Reflection: Clarity of vision doesn’t always come from the first effort. In the work that we do, we attempt to help people see life clearly, so they can grow in understanding, make wise decisions, and live productively. That isn’t a simple task, often there is a period of confusion and blurred vision. On occasion, even Jesus had to repeat a healing act, and so do we.
Prayer: God of vision, sometimes life around us seems blurred and confused. Seeing everything clearly is surely a great gift. Help us to remain hopeful even when healing acts have to be repeated.
