Conditional Release Programs

Conditional Release North

Conditional Release North contracts with the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services to provide case management and supervision to people who suffer from a mental disease or defect and who have committed a crime.  These clients have been found not criminally responsible for their behavior at the time of the offense due to the overwhelming nature of their symptoms of mental illness. The program has a team of case managers that provide services across 30 counties. This program has been a leader in the field of community support for people with mental illness in the criminal justice system, and has high rates of success in assisting people in becoming successful and productive while keeping communities safe.

Donations from community members and groups are always appreciated and continuously play a large part of the success of this program.

Turning the Corner West

Turning the Corner West, located in La Crosse, WI originated in April of 2007 due to the growing need for residential and support services for clients within the LSS Conditional Release Program.

The primary responsibility of the Turning the Corner staff is to be the front line person for the client's probation agent and case manager.  Once the clients in Turning the Corner have demonstrated that they can live independently in the community with decreased supervision, the Conditional Release Program transitions them to less restrictive environments.
