A dedicated employee, an athlete of the year, and an award winning volunteer - these are just three of the amazing people with disabilities who Lutheran Social Services (LSS) is privileged to support everyday.
LSS serves more than 2,000 persons with disabilities providing support at the level a person needs, from a few hours/week to 24 hours per day / seven days per week, year round. This is done through community supported living, meaningful daytime supports, or support to learn skills in order to remain independent.
While disabilities present unique challenges, most people who experience them can live successfully in their own communities. Their needs are the same as everyone's - to work and play, to enjoy a home and make choices, to love and be loved. They want to live normal and independent lives. Our programs respond to these needs and give persons with disabilities the chance to develop their abilities to the fullest extent possible.
