The LSS ministry has grown with more than 250 programs in over 90 communities in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, serving over 100,000 people annually. As a social ministry organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), LSS emerged from a congregational base. Individual churches forged this partnership so that this service to the Gospel of Jesus Christ could meet a wider array of human need in both the congregation and community. Today LSS is know as one of the premier faith-based social ministry organizations.
